Unexpected Gifts (KD&J Botanica)

"What, for me?" I cradled the delicate green bloom like it was the official Miss America bouquet and I was about to embark on my victory lap, while a sullen first runner-up Miss Texas watched in the background. The stems were wrapped in a regal coppery-blue fabric and adordned with a lush brown velvet ribbon. All I was missing was a wobbly three-tier crown and waterproof mascara. Oh how I relish life's unexpected gifts.

And that's exactly what Katherine Jacobs of KDJ Botanica is to us...one of life's best unexpected gifts. This past October when Jus & I needed extra flowers for our wedding, Katherine stepped in at the last minute and absolutely rocked the show! Last night we had the distinct pleasure of taking her out to dinner so that we could even begin trying to thank her for all that she has done for us. To say that Katherine is a florist would be something akin to saying Monet liked his dots. Her work is nothing less than sheer artistry...always taking it to the next level, it's like she's giving Mother Nature a much-needed makeover. She's a good heart, giving soul, and a kindred spirit. And we are so, so lucky to call her friend. But don't just take my word for it...head on over to the Grazier's blog to see some of their killer shots of her AMAZING work.

C'mon! Just look at that tiny clothes pin!! ( Check out Justin's adventures in painting with light photography )
